07 Sep How to Find Your Passion Driven Business
People tell me all the time that they just can’t seem to figure out what it is they should be doing. They have these ideas, things they’re passionate about, and a goal to make it on their own. Putting all of that together can prove to be difficult though. I mean if it wasn’t, wouldn’t everyone be living their most passionate life?
After spending so much time myself trying to find the answer to this, I have been able to develop a system that helps bring clarity to this very question. Though both my personal experiences and using this system on clients; I have narrowed this down to 3 simple factors. By thinking about your values, passions, and skills you’re able to see where the 3 meet.
Let me break this down for you.
Values: Your values by definition are your principles or standards of behavior; one’s judgment of what is important in life. For instance, my values are a work/life balance, my family and friends, and travel. Those things that will always come first before I ever think of work or anything else.
Passions: This is sometimes confused with values, but these are the things you are passionate about. What wakes you up in the morning and throws you out of bed? I am extremely passionate about women’s empowerment, self-care, travel, and web-design.
Skills: These are the things you’re good at and enjoy doing all day. It can be something you’ve been trained in, or a hobby you really enjoy. My skills include computer science, social media marketing, web design, and public speaking.
Now, you may notice that some things were repeated in each category. This is on purpose. When considering these three items like a Venn diagram, there is overlap. And when looking at where each two overlap, there will be an even more obvious overlap of all three.
Whatever it is that overlaps all three is what you should be pursuing. If you value something, are passionate about it, and also skilled in doing this you will be unstoppable. And even more importantly, you’ll be so excited to get to work each day that it won’t even feel like work!
